In the recent years as our country’s economic developing, transportation has greatly developed and the number of freight vehicle is increasing along with the increasing of the demand. And curve play an important role in the rollover accident in road alignment. In recent research analyzing of freight vehicle’s traffic accident, people always focus on driver’s operation and road conditions, and ignore the distribution of the vehicle’s gravity center, that is also one of the direct reason why freight truck’s accident happened so frequently.The safety velocity threshold based on the simulation experiment is supposed to get. Firstly, the paper summarizes the traffic accidents that happened on the curve. the reasons are formed, and force analysis of the vehicle when running through the curve is made, and the influence factors of the safety threshold velocity are founded. The road models that had different factors and the truck models which center of gravity is different are established by ADAMS/Car, the safety threshold of center gravity and the maximum safety velocity are got by the simulation experiment. the paper also analysis the relationship between the safety velocity threshold and road alignment, the relationship between the safety threshold velocity and the truck’s center of gravity, the prediction of the safety velocity threshold is build. Combined with orthogonal analysis different factors and levels are selected. According to the experiment group the safety threshold can be counted. The parameters of the model can get after the regression analysis, the results of the simulation experiments shows that they are positive power function relationship between radius and the safety velocity threshold, superelevation and the safety velocity threshold, it is negative power relationship between the position of center of gravity and safety velocity threshold, the prediction model among radius, superelevation, the position of center gravity and the safety velocity threshold is four variables nonlinear.The freight vehicle’s position of center of gravity influence on curve driving safety is studied by using the simulation technique, not only can save the test expense, while also being able to avoid the personal and property by the traffic accident. From the test we can determine if the rollover accident have happened, and get the velocity threshold by adjusting the parameters. This will enhance the level of the safety of freight vehicle transportation and lead the guiding significance in reducing the number of traffic accidents happened on the curve.
