Nowadays road construction has made great development with the development of China's transportation industry.People are satisfied with convenience along with the construction of long span bridges which effectively connect the entire road network.At the same time,people asks for more requirements for the comfort,stability and safety of the automobile as the improvement of the vehicle design which makes automobile go faster and faster.In order to analyze the effect of crosswind on long-span bridges traffic safety,vehicle dynamics simulation models were established using CARSIM software while factors including wind speed,friction coefficient on road surface,vehicle speed were took into account.Then,the lateral offset was taken as the risk evaluation indexes of driving,and how the factors affecting driving safety were explored through the theory of mathematical statistics.Finally,the critical speed prediction models of different wind environments and road conditions were set up based on BP neural network.The main results are as follows:(1)Automobile speed,wind speed,wind direction,surface friction coefficient of long-span bridge traffic safety has significant effect on traffic safety: the crosswind sensitivity of the automobile is effect by automobile speed,change of wind speed and wind direction determines the lateral force of automobile,the maximum friction force is related to the road surface friction coefficient;(2)Vehicle speed is the most significant factor affecting the stability of the vehicle,then wind direction and wind speed,friction coefficient is the weakest factor;(3)According to the BP neural network prediction results for the bridge critical safe speed of automobile: when the wind is six wind,recommended critical safe speed is 108 km/h;when the wind is the seven winds,critical safe speed is 104 km/h;when the wind is eight wind speed,suggestions for critical safe speed is 103 km/h;when the wind is nine wind,recommended critical safe speed is 98 km/h;(4)Finally,a control method along with control strategy,suggestions for vehicle design and driver safety awareness and driving skills are considered to make suggestions to improve the safety of traffic in Long-span bridge.
