With the development of the society, environmental issues have been paid more attention. But a larger number of cement was used in construction and foundation treatment. However the cement production process will produce large amounts of toxic gases and waste. Along with the process of industrialization, more and more iron had been produced. But the GGBS have been taken little attention. In view of characteristics of GGBS, if we use GGBS to take the place of cement as the soil stabilization agent, we can reduce the dosage of cement in the reinforcement of soft soil, decreasing the pollution of cement production, protecting environment, saving energy, and also reduce a large number of GGBS stacking and pollution so as to bring great economic benefits and social benefits. In this paper the GGBS was been used to replace cement to consolidate the soft soil in Chao Hu Lake. Because of the characteristic of GGBS, both Ca O and gypsum were chosen as the intensifying agent to consolidate the soft soil. The stabilization effect of soft soil has been studied by using GGBS. The main contents are as follows:(1) In this paper GGBS、Ca O and gypsum were been used to have single mixing experiment to determine the scope of experiment, and then using analysis software(SPSS) to analysis the experimental results. Analysis shows that the volume of Ca O is lower than GGBS to the influence of unconfined compressive strength of stabilized soils, and GGBS lower than gypsum. It is found that the optimum mixture ratio of stabilize soft soil is 11% GGBS, 3.5% Ca O and 5% gypsum. But Ca O has little influence on the strength of soft soil when the Ca O mixing ratio is bigger than 3.5%. When economy and service were considered, the optimum mixture ratio of stabilize soft soil is 11%, 3.5%, 5%.(2) Through the analysis of moisture content of the solidified soil, unconfined compressive strength and properties of stress-strain curves show that the moisture content of solidified soil decreases with the hydration of solidified soil. GGBS solidified soil strength increased quickly at first and can reach the strength of 40%~50% after 28 days. With the growing of the stabilized soil strength, the stress-strain curve becomes more steep and the sample tends to brittle fracture.(3)The solidification effect of GGBS stabilized soil contrasted to cement stabilized soil and the feasibility of new material solidifying soft soil has been analyzed.
