Miniature spectrometer is a major component part of optical instrument. Due to its advantages of high accuracy, high speed, has become an important Measuring instrument. It is widely used in agriculture, biology, chemistry, geology, food safety, chromaticity calculation, environmental inspection, medicine and health care, LED, semiconductor industry, petrochemical industry, etc.The applications of traditional spectrometers are constrained due to their big volume and high costs. Thus the development of a high sensitivity, high signal-to-noise ratio and relatively cheap with miniature spectrometer has a very broad market prospects, and has a vital significance.In this paper, we mainly study the optical theories of micro-spectrometer and solve optimum designs of the optical system and mechanical structure. By this design method, the miniature spectrometer is achieved with high performance. The primary coverage is listed as follows:(1) This paper introduces the present state of the domestic and foreign research in miniature spectrometer. Through the analysis of software architecture, we work out the software design of extension.(2)Studying on mechanical structure of the miniature spectrometer. We analyze the optical system by the simulation and control the stray light less than 0.08% @ 600 nm.(3)We design a high-sensitivity high-resolution and USB2.0-based CCD data acquisition system for spectral measurement.(4)By studying the refrigeration circuit and compared with the traditional micro-spectrometer effect, designs of refrigeration circuit, to cool the micro-spectrometer CCD. Through the actual test, the refrigeration micro-spectrometer is more obvious than traditional non refrigeration micro-spectrometer at SNR improvement effect.
