Nowadays, issues such as natural resources shortages, energy depletion and the en vironmental deterioration are the main constraints on the development of human being s. After the theory of green economy and the theory of sustainable development putting forward, people pay close attention to the application of green building materials. As p eople pay more attention to the environmental protection and health care, bamboo buil ding material, with its obvious advantage on low-carbon and environmental protection,has been topped the interior design material’s A-list.As ecological protection are more and more important, bamboo building material is coming back into designers’ view. How to use this traditional material in a new way is the main topic. Because of its character of energy conservation and environment prot ection, Bamboo building material will be another option in choosing building materials.It can not only improve the comprehensive utilization of resources and energy, but red uce the pollution to the environment. In view of the widely usage of bamboo fiber and bamboo charcoal in our daily life, we can foresee the great potential and the brilliant pr ospects of the application of bamboo building material in interior design.With deeply analyzing characters of bamboo material and studying the trend and d emanding of interior design, the article proves the inherent relationship between bambo o material and interior design. After comparing the advantages and the disadvantages o f bamboo material, the author discusses how to make the most of it, and provides better improving approach.
