Nowadays, with the development of car industry, there are more and more cars in our society. The number of nonprofessional driver has increased greatly, which leads to more traffic accidents. Car owners concern about how to get quick and high quality service and how to ensure the safety of the repaired car on the road. Therefore, there is an increasing demand of automobile repair in modern society.The key steps in automobile body repair are measurement of deformation and analysis of data in the process of repair, as well as parametric analysis of check points. Automobile body deformation remediation technology has already been a special field abroad with scientific test and maintenance system and practice process. Automobile body electronic measurement system has been widely used abroad, while it has been seldom used in domestic. Most domestic companies still use traditional steel or tape ruler to make measurements, especially for the measurements of automotive body girders correction. In this process, there is no complete practice process. Most of the times, it is based on maintenance technicians’ personal experience. Thus, there is no scientific quality of requirement in deciding whether the repaired automotive body reaches the safety technical standards or not. The only standard is to restore the outlook of automotive body. Under this circumstance, our country holds automobile maintenance competition. It aims to train technical talents and popularize the application of advanced maintenance technology, which can be seen clearly in steel metal part of competition.Based on the advising experience of automobile maintenance competition, this paper mainly aims to do theoretical analysis of automobile body electronic measurement, carry out automobile body deformation simulation, provide mechanical analysis of automobile body repair and work out the operational process. This paper mainly contains of the following aspects:Firstly, by analyzing the growing trend of traffic accidents, this paper concludes that automobile body repair is very important in modern maintenance. The key step in automobile body repair is deformation measurement, about which the status quo both aboard and at home.Secondly, this paper analyzes the basic modes of automobile body deformation. Meanwhile, it introduces the importance and method of automobile body deformation measurement, as well as common mechanical equipments used.Thirdly, this paper points out the characteristics, classification and application of automobile body electronic measurement. It conducts theoretical analysis of each point of measurement to analyze the harm of deformation.Fourthly, based on the theoretical knowledge of automobile body measurement, this paper analyzes the results and finds out the reasons of deformation. This paper takes repeated measurement of JETTA for an example. Deformation information of each point of measurement can be seen by comparing measured data to standard data. Impacting load can be seen from deformation extend and the mechanical behavior of materials. Based on the analysis results, the correspondent repair plans have been worked out and appropriate equipments have been chosen. Solidworks has been used to in simulation to judge the mechanical state of each impact point after deformation, to find the precautions in automobile body repair, and then to formulate operational process.
