In recent years, with the improvement of science and technology in modern warfare, the comprehensive demands of airborne systems is increasing, the integration of avionics systems and aerospace electromechanical systems has been becoming a trend. However, the process of airborne systems integration develops more quick, the system function and structure become more complex, the whole integrated systems would be breakdown if any problem occurred in any unit. The integrated management computer introduced in this article is the operating platform of mission critical in electromechanical system and avionics system, the reliability level of IMC is directly related to the flight safety. Consequently, the research and development on improving the reliability, robustness and ease maintenance of the integrated management computer system and fault detection and tolerance technology is significant.An exhaustive introduction of design of the integrated management computer system is made in this paper, to introduction focuses on two aspects, redundant hardware and fault-tolerant software. The present study demonstrated the fault detection methods, including analytical redundancy, signal processing and expert knowledge, which is the basis of fault tolerant technique. Indeed, we investigated the implementation methods and characteristics of fault tolerant technique in different airborne systems to evaluate the reliability of the fault tolerant system. According to the theoretical analysis above, the overall plan and implement methods of fault tolerant design on IMCS is presented in this article, including Information network system, which Information redundancy design is given priority to with GJB289A network communication, and RS422 communication is complementary. The serial bus ARTNC659 is adopted in internal system to realize the interconnection, to further improve the reliability of the communication within the system. The design of the bus interface module and the control management module meets the requirements that "once failure can work and a secondary fail-safe". The system software is divided into four modules through the analysis of software fault tolerant technique and its design process. The four modules is bus management, Redundancy management, fault detection and Synchronous technology. Finally, the realization and functional verification of the program are analyzed and summarized.
