With the rapid development of China’s power grid construction, increasing system capacity, power transformers in the system as one of the core equipment, its stability, reliability, safe operation of power system plays a crucial role. The failure of the transformer short-circuit area or near the outlet of a large proportion of the transformer accident, seriously affected the stable operation of the power system. In order to prevent such incidents burst of short-circuit power transformer suffered analysis and calculation of the windings and insulation, fasteners and other manufacturing processes to improve on the level of study has very important significance. This paper introduces the purpose and significance of the topic, and to study abroad for the transformer leakage magnetic field, short-circuit power and strength to withstand short circuit winding did discuss such issues; then a brief introduction to the basic theory of the electromagnetic field and finite element analysis software, describes the causes and methods of computation short circuit current and short-circuit power of the leakage magnetic field. Large-capacity non-excitation regulator SF11-75000 / 35 transformer, for example, the use of finite element analysis software Ansoft, establish equivalent model, the leakage magnetic field distribution of the output transformer windings, then the dynamic stability and thermal stability were transformer verification, and finally calculated from the electromagnetic, core structure, coil winding, the body of insulation, lead all aspects of structure, put forward concrete implementation of measures to improve the short-circuit withstanding ability of the transformer SF11-75000 / 35.
