At present, with the domestic increase of the quantity demand for the products, the more strict requirements are to the assembly technologies and the efficiencies. Although the cylindrical cabin docking assembly can reduce the devices and improve the economic profits by assembling the products with the different diameters and lengths in the same device, there is a great shortage in China in the development of the flexible assembly technologies which can satisfy the current demand for the product assembling. Aiming at the cylindrical cabin’s flexible assembling and docking technologies, this thesis proposes a docking device for the different cabins with the different diameters and lengths. At the same time, the analysis and validation for the stiffness and strength of the proposed structure are conducted in with the Workbench.First, the fundamental requirements, principles and procedures during the mechanical structure design are elaborated in this thesis. Then, the basic theories and the solution steps about the static and dynamic analysis in the finite element structure are stated.Second, the initial project about the whole structure design is presented on the basis of the mechanical structure design principles and the user requirements. After that, the 3-D model for the whole structure and the engineering drawings for the parts are completed in the software CATIA, respectively. According to the national standard, the reasonable structure dimensions are determined based on the calculations for the standard parts.Third, with the static responses of the whole base under two kinds of the loading conditions and the whole frame, as well as the transient dynamic response of the open-close mechanism, the reasonability of the stiffness and strength are verified for the structure proposed in this thesis while improvements for the unreasonable parts are completed at the same time. Finally, the topology optimization has been implemented for a part of the structure after meeting the functional requirements. Meanwhile, the static analysis for the optimized structure has also been conducted to validate the stiffness and the strengthrequirements. Then, the final design for the whole cabin supporting frame and the base is completed, which also provide a reference for the future study of the flexible assembly.
