Headers distributor is widely used in many fields, for example, nuclear power plant, thermal Power Plant, chemical plant and petrochemical plant. The performance of Headers distributor directly affects heat transfer, mass transfer and chemical reactions. Therefore, the research of the headers distributor has a great significance for the promotion of economic development and energy conservation.This paper reviews the research on the headers distributor, and finds that most of researchers ignore the frictional effect or the inertial effect in the annular headers distributor. And assuming that the velocity in each manifold is the same, or assuming that the axial velocity in the header is linear distribution, some researchers build the math models of the annular headers distributor. Therefore, there is large gap between those models with the actual distributor. For the deficiency of the previous models, this paper researchs the annular distributor. The main works are as follows:(1)Under considering the frictional effect and the inertial effect, this paper, inspired by Professor Wang’s model, builds the math model, without above assumptions. Based on the momentum theorem and the conservation of mass, this paper gets the analytical solutions in the annular headers distributor.(2)This paper researchs the influence of the main parameters to the velocity in the distributor. And this paper finds that the header velocity is affected by inertial and frictional term. When the effect of inertial and frictional term tends to equilibrium, the header velocity distribution, in the annular headers distributor, tends to be linear, and the velocity in manifolds distributes more uniform. When the inertial term plays a leading role, the impact of the total angle and the annular radius on the header velocity can be ignored.(3)According to the Wang’s analytical solutions and this paper’s solutions, this paper writes VB software. This software calculates the velocity distribution in the two sections of the annular distributor. And this paper finds that the change of the header radius, closing to the input, has more influence than the distant. Under the same total folw and the same structure size of the distributor, this software simulates the flow, in the header distributors, which has one, two or four input and output, and this paper finds that the flow in the distributor, which having four input and output, distributes more uniform.
