Aiming at the optimization of the bottom structure and the cracked gas distribution of bathtub-type four-inlets transfer line exchanger (TLE) used in ethylene plant, the flow field in bottom of the TLE was simulated by CFD software and the structure parameters of the distributor was researched. Firstly, the comprehensive evaluation system was established analytic hierarchy process (AHP) for TLE running stably and efficiently, with the life time, product yield, and energy loss as performance index, the dimensionless comprehensive evaluation parameter G was put forward, and the weighted factors of mass flow rate standard deviations(STD), averaged vorticity Ω and averaged turbulent dissipation rate ε were set as0.2,0.4and0.4. The influence to the flow field caused by the different ellipse eccentricities, rod diameters, the relative height of distributors and the rods distance of distributor was investigated by CFD software, and it was found that the flow has optimal performance when the ellipses eccentricity is1.2, the rod diameter is25mm and the relative height is0.24and the rods distance is40mm. Finally the cold model was established by approximate modeling method, the CFD simulation was verified by cold model experiment and the experimental results matched to the simulated results totally. This research fruit had been used in plant and obvious effect was represented.
