The traditional reliability analysis of earth-rockfill dam is based on the performance function obtained by limit equilibrium method. However, the function is generally nonlinear, namely cannot really reflect the stress of soil, and fails to consider the seepage of dam in action. This will result in a low computational efficiency and calculation result is larger. To solve the problems, this article will use the alternative model to approximate the real performance function.Support vector machine (SVM), which has excellent learning ability for small sample, and be able to use a small amount of sample to structure realistic alternative model. Therefore, this article will combine support vector regression machine and traditional reliability calculation method to propose the SVR-MC method. Compared the SVR-MC method with traditional reliability analysis methods found that its calculation accuracy can meet the engineering requirements and the computational efficiency is higher. The SVR-MC method applied to earth-rockfill dam’s reliability calculation need a small amount of samples to train support vector machine (SVM), Due to Latin Hypercube Sampling can extract uniform and random samples, it will be used to extract samples for the basic random variables, and use strength subtraction to calculate the corresponding safety factor of dam slope by using Abaqus, eventually get uniform training samples. Due to Use finite element strength subtraction to calculate dam slope safety factor can consider fluid-structure interaction within the dam body, the alternative model can better reflect the real performance function.Finally, the reliability calculation of earth-rock dams based on support vector machine method is applied to analysis the earth-rock dam’reliability of ChengBi river reservoir. Regard the ChengBi river reservoir as the research object, and calculate the reliability of dam slope when the upstream water level is 185 m and the downstream water level is 132. Compared the calculated results with the traditional reliability calculation based on the limit equilibrium method found that the reliability index which consider the seepage effect is smaller. The result show that the reliability analysis of earth-rockfill dam based on support vector machine can meet the engineering accuracy requirement, and the calculation result is more reasonable and more accurate.lt is worth promoting.
