With the widespread application of asphalt concrete, the research on it is also expanding with each passing day. The current mainstream research are mainly based on the macroscopic mechanical properties such as Marshall or volume parameter experiments. From the perspective of digital image processing, this article directly collects and studies the aggregate geometry information and location distribution of the mixture. We can know the information of the content of flake aggregate, its spindle distribution, and the discrete degree of aggregate center mass. Then we can summarize the law of aggregate distribution under the influence of the experimental factors and its production process.The study found that the number and its distribution of flake aggregate is only associated with its origin structure and processing technology. Increasing the compaction times and the adding of glass aggregate have few influence on it. The flake aggregate nearly appears in big size, the small particle size of aggregate always owns the higher surface energy, it is not easy to be crushed. At the same time, the flake aggregate will not suddenly increase when we change the judgment border.The results show that the arrangement of spindle distribution is complete at the beginning of the compaction, the contribution of the subsequent compaction has no significant influence. Because of the large internal friction angle of glass and more constrains existing in the middle of specimens, its arrangement is more stable. It is worth reminding that the arrangement of each seize aggregate and the aggregate of whole cross section don’t shows a high correlation.The discrete degree of aggregate is mainly affected by the compaction. More compaction, higher discrete degree. Big aggregate shows more independent migration, and the small aggregate can only flow around the big one, it’s more spreading,so the discrete degree of the big particle aggregate is higher.Based on the research of DIP technology for material will certainly be the trend. the further study of asphalt concrete on aggregate distribution can find some inspiration from the article.
