With the improvement of economic level in our country, the city is also accelerating the pace of development, what makes people’s demand for housing has also been gradually increasing. The original low Building structures became tall and super-tall building structure. Our country is such a country who has frequent earthquakes, and the unpredictability of earthquake often brings devastating consequences for humanity. At present, Base isolation is an effective and economic technology, it is mainly used in multi-storey buildings in China, but there are few applications in the high-rise building structure.Base isolation is a new safe and effective technology, which grew out in the 30 years.It is also a passive control system. It prevents the earthquake energy from directly passing up by setting isolation bearings between the upper structure and foundation bearing. It absorbs seismic energy by use of the morphological changes of isolation bearings what protects function and safety of the upper structure.In this thesis, we use a 20 layers of shear wall structure as an example to know that Base isolation technology is applied in the high-rise building structure which is feasible or not. This thesis introduces the present development situation and the isolation mechanism of Base isolation technology. We analyse elemental point and multiple particle system mechanics models Through the principles of Base isolation, Then We simplify the analysis of the engineering model to establish structure dynamic equation. Then use the common finite element software MIDAS GEN which were established non-isolated structure model and isolated structure model, and earthquake response time history analysis have been done, we calculated and obtained the shear of layer, the interlayer displacement and the top acceleration amplitude between the two structures,and we draw some conclusions by comparing to the calculation results of two kinds of structures. Then this thesis studies the influence what vertical seismic effects on Isolated structures, then input level and vertical seismic wave for isolated structure at the same time,and The dynamic response of a structure are obtained.then compared with the dynamic response of Isolated structure what only input level Seismic wave,then some conclusions are obtained.Natural period of set isolation bearing structure increases compared to non-isolated structure by comparison, avoiding the resonance occurs. In multi earthquake and rare earthquake, the displacement between the isolated structure layer, the varying degrees and topacceleration interlaminar shear were reduced compared to the non-isolated structure. Isolation layer have been large displacement, proving isolation layer absorbs seismic energy. The vertical seismic action fuels the seismic dynamic response of base-isolated structure, but the impact is not very big.Tall Building Structures isolation technology is the direction of future, how to make safer and more effective base isolation technology,which needs further study.
