Car,as one of the world’s most important traffic tools, the problem of security is the focus of attention of the people. The brake as the ultimate end in automobile braking system, occupies an important position in the automotive safety. Drum brake is widely used in modern cars, and in actual use it is facing all kinds of failure, and will be a serious impact on driving safety and reliability of the vehicle, so the research of drum brake is of great significance. The coupling analysis of temperature field and stress field of brake is an important content of the brake design, and the braking process of drum brake is a typical and complex thermal structure coupling process This paper selects the rear axle drum brake of Shanqi De Long Xin M3000 6×2LNG tractor as an example, based on the consideration of the distribution of mobile heat flux that result in the brake friction heat due to rotation, and the coupling between the brake temperature, pressure and stress, application of CATIA software for 3D modeling, and using direct coupling in the finite element analysis software ABAQUS, at the speed of 60km/s, the analysis of the thermal structure coupling at an emergency braking in the normal temperature.Through the analysis of the coupling results of drum brake, reveals the distribution of the transient temperature field and stress field under the action of friction heat and convective heat transfer of the brake drum, and to preliminary study on the effect of friction on the brake performance.
