According to situations that brake failures are frequently caused by drivers continually using brake system under complex road conditions, this thesis mainly investigates the law of temperature rises of brake shoes, friction liners and brake drums in fully loaded vehicles when they are in working conditions with frequent braking. By comparing and analyzing the temperature variation of different temperature measuring points in the brake system, providing theoretical basis for the research of temperature sensors’mounting positions and the position using to build the model calculating the tendency of temperature. This thesis takes Dongfeng DANA TD485 rear single drive axle brake as the object of the research and analyzes the temperature variation and heat transfer of brake shoe, friction liner and brake drum on the basis of thermal conduction theory. Use three-dimension solid modeling software UG to build a simplified model for the drum brake, import the model into ANSYS Workbench and give the model a direct coupled-field by inserting ANSYS command flow. Set the loading files of continually braking corresponding to different initial velocity, complete the analog simulation of the brake model and the temperature of different position with braking frequency change curve comes out as a result. Use the GXT-1 inertial brake tester to test the brake drum in working condition with frequent braking when fully loaded, compare the data of ANSYS result and bench test, check the veracity of the drum brake 3d model and the simulation method of generating heat by friction. There are five temperature measuring points in the bench test:on the top of the brake shoe, on the surface of the friction liner, inside the brake shoe, on the internal surface of the brake drum and on the external surface of the brake drum. After the composite analysis of temperature variation of different initial velocity, we acquire the temperature sensors’ mounting positions and judging the position using to build the model calculating the tendency of temperature.
