Based on the project of Institute of Electronic CAD, Xidian University key laboratory of high speed circuit design and EMC ministry of education, a low input voltage, high efficiency, low quiescent, high degree integrated and fast response hysteretic current mode boost power supply converter XD1410 is proposed in the paper. The converter is widely used in portable electronic instruments, mainly wireless mouse, and all parameters were set according to the unlimited mouse.XD1410 adopts soft oscillator start and charger pump to achieve the chip work normally in the low input voltage; The Hysteretic current mode setting a constant ripple of the inductor current and obtaining a very small ripple of the output voltage; Built-in over-temperature protection, over-current protection and zero-crossing protection prevents the chip damage in the different application environment and can not be used again. XD1410 can convert in heavy load and light load automatically, improving the conversion efficiency of light load and reducing the switching loss and drive loss. No oscillator in the Synchronous Rectifier converter which simplifies the choice of external components and internal circuit structure, reduces the layout area and cost saving.The paper firstly introduces the development and trends of power management, and clarifies the important meaning of this paper in the market application. Then the paper analyzes the topology structure and theory of Boost and Charger Pump of SMPS(Switch Mode Power Supply), and introduces the advantages and disadvantage of two common control modes of SMPS such as PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) and PFM(Pulse Frequency Modulation), and introduces the advantages and disadvantage of the different current sense circuits, which will help readers how to choose the fit mode and the fit structure of current sense for their chip; Then according to the function and performance design the system scheme of XD1410, and tell the reader how to choose the external and internal compensation device to achieve the stability; Then analyses and introduces the internal key sub-circuit in XD1410, and gives the simulation waves; Then introduce the overall performance simulation conditions and actual test results in different application environment; And then show the short in the chip design process and the expectation for the future designer; The last is the thanks for everyone in my life.On the basis of the system and main sub-block design, the chip is implemented using a 0.35μm CMOS process and verifies the pre-simulation and post-simulation by EDA tools of Cadence. Simulation results show the chip can provide up to 200 m A load current over a wide operating input voltage range from 0.8V to 5V, and the wireless mouse need 40 m A load current, this function and performance of the whole chip have met the entire specification. The quiescent current is only 5μA, and greatly reduced power consumption and extend the life of the chip. The ripple of inductor current is fixed 200 m A and the ripple of output voltage lower than 10 m V, which will not lead the wireless mouse false trigger, And the max current of switch converter is 600 m A. The chip uses SOT23-5 package, cost savings, improve chip integration. Input supply voltage and load current changes will not affect the stability of the output voltage and the chip reaches the market application requirements.
