Distribution static synchronous compensator (D-STATCOM) can effectively solve the distribution of grid voltage fluctuation, three-phase voltage unbalance, harmonic power quality issues, etc. For 3-phase equilibrium distribution system, the purpose of this thesis is to research and exploit D-STATCOM device and its DSP controller design and experimental test, furthermore, and apply it to the storage battery charging and discharging voltage stabilizing system.From D-STATCOM circuit structure, its mathematical model is established in the paper, and through the Routh criterion on the system stability analysis, the system is controllable. Analysis of D-STATCOM voltage regulation principle, the feasibility of the voltage regulation scheme is validated by computer simulation. To realize D-STATCOM voltage stabilization, the thesis introduced the hardware design and software design is introduced in detail. Hardware design mainly includes the isolation and IGBT drive circuit, signal conditioning circuit, fault protection circuit, PWM output buffer circuit, control the power supply circuit, protection circuit and so on. The software design mainly includes the initial program, AD sampling procedures and control algorithm, etc. And the DSP controller is tested in closed-loop system.On this basis, a platform of D-STATCOM battery charge and discharge- reactive voltage stability experiment prototype was set up. During the system analyzing in the main circuit structure, the selection of device parameters and detail analysis have been done for the overall system control algorithm. With 5 kVar D-STATCOM reactive voltage stabilizing system, the experimental results are analyzed in detail and the results show that D-STATCOM device can keep the battery charging and discharging system ac bus voltage stability.
