Power system voltage stability is closely related to power quality of enterprise andresidential electricity. It has been researched as the focus of power system stability analysis.Power system voltage instability is often due to lack of reactive power. Reasonable reactivepower compensation can effectively manage this problem. Static synchronous compensator(STATCOM) as a novel dynamic reactive power compensation device, with fast response,wide scope of compensation, etc., has become the forefront of the study of reactive powercompensation. The main work of my paper was to analyze the common voltage stabilityproblem and electricity dazzling. Propose a new program that using STATCOM to controlelectricity dazzling. For current research on reactive power compensation, using geneticalgorithms to an example STATCOM reactive power compensation device configurationoptimization.As a common voltage stability problem on large-scale enterprise grid, electricity dazzlinghas a serious impact on the production. My paper relying on cooperation with TianjinPetrochemical Project that “Research on Tianjin Petrochemical electricity dazzling controlprogram”. Building power grid model based on actual data of Tianjin Petrochemical grid. It isproposed that using STATCOM and quick switching device to control the electricity dazzling.Implementing the research and analysis of several kinds of electricity dazzling which happenin the power system. Taking text of the protection devices in power system, avoid themalfunction of protection devices. Take several anti-dazzling electronic device compatiblewith STATCOM to control the electricity dazzling.Optimize the allocation of reactive power compensation device, can effectively providereactive power support and maintain the system voltage stability. In my paper, take theIEEE57bus system as an example. Use the genetic algorithm to select the optimal capacityand optimal installation of the STATCOM. The simulation analysis shows that use thisprogram of can effectively reduce system lose under conditions to meet the economicconstrains, improve the system voltage stability.
