Since Chongzhen 4 years of Ming Dynasty, Hangzhou Gongchen Bridge designed and construction,which has existed for 384 years. And it is one of the earlier existing bridges on the Grand canal of Hangzhou Gongshu District.This paper attempts to exploit the Gongchen Bridge’s humanistic thought through the textual research about its design and construction in several times of history.And also by analyzing its art design ideas, functions, relevant couplets, and poetry thought.Gongchen Bridge is also important cultural heritage and landscape design of the grand canal in Hangzhou city. It is positive and valuable that we should implement further protection and exploit its art value of culture and landscape design.On the other hand, it’s value also contain about the canal bridge landscape design and protection and the development of tourism in the contemporary and future Hangzhou.
