Modern Tram as a new kind of sustainable development of transportation system has gradually become the first choice of the public transportation for some small and medium-sized city.The most important reason is that the modern tram has the advantage of less construction investment,shorter project period,lower operating costs,greater transport efficiency,low-carbon,less emissions,travel convenient and on-time etc..In the whole process of tram operation,modern tram signal system play a central role.The modern tram signal system complete the operation of the vehicle control and scheduling management etc. through the computer intelligent control technology,communication and information computing technology,automation technology,power and electrification technology and other advanced technologies.At present,as an important part of urban rail transit system,the modern tram is at a stage of rapid development in our country.However,the “local content” degree of the modern tram signal system is relatively low,and especially its signal infrastructure also need to refer to foreign technologies and standards on the part of research, design and production.And also its signal infrastructure has poorer universality and higher project costs.So the signal infrastructure has been unable to meet the development of urban rail transit system in China.Therefore, it is very necessary to develop our country’s signal infrastructure of the modern tram which is with high local content and independent intellectual property.Firstly,the paper has introduced this research background and significance of the project,and has analyzed the basic working principle of the modern tram signal system and the current research status of the signal system at home and abroad.Meanwhile the paper also has analyzed the requirement of performance and function demand for control module of the modern tram signal system trackside controller of three-phase AC switches.Second,the paper has analyzed the key technology of the modern tram signal system,and has discussed the control method and principle of five-wire switch control circuit which is to control the modern tram signal system trackside controller of three-phase AC switches,and has mainly investigated that the likelihood of control module’s design is based on all-electronic technology.Then,on this basis,according to the operational characteristics of modern tram,and learning from the key technology of traditional railway signal system,and referencing to main structure of the modern tram system both at home and abroad,the paper has designed a set of control module of the modern tram signal system trackside controller of three-phase AC switches which suit our country’s development of urban rail transit system.And after that thepaper has detailed introduced the safety measures and working principles using in the process of implementation and design.Finally,the paper has elaborated analyzed and validated and tested the reliability,safety,maintainability and electromagnetic compatibility of control module of three-phase AC switches.The testing results have indicated that the control module complies with the requirement of the high safety standard of the modern tram signal infrastructure totally.This topic designed all-electronic control module of three-phase AC switches has been conducted field tests on the tram demonstration line.Through field tests,it has fully proved that the control module can be very good at controlling some series of switch machine such as S700-K and ZD(J)9 and ZY(J).And the control module meets the requirements of main line switch machine of the modern tram signal system.At the same time,the control module also has the advantage characteristics of small volume,fully functional,stable performance and working efficiently etc..In the end,it has strong project and engineering practical value.
