The spectrum of AC drive locomotives which present in the article can help to avoid blindness and randomness in production and procurement, can contribute to the standardization and serialization, and also guide the technology development of AC drive electric locomotive.This article take national AC electric locomotives as research topic, based on the national long-term development plan、the medium-and long-term railway network plan and Railway main technical policy,in reference to a large amounts of data wordwide,combined the market demand of China’s railway and AC drive electric locomotive equipment level, Carried out a systematic study of the domestic AC drive electric locomotives spectrum.Firstly, a full range of investigation was taken in national electrified railway mileage, types of electric locomotives, the total number, types of axles, the drive of axle, and the environment of electric locomotives and so on.Secondly, according to the survey, sum up the characteristics and problems of the passenger locomotives and freight locomotives, the paper proposed to increase models of passenger and freight AC drive electric locomotive, to improve the spectrum of AC drive locomotive.Thirdly, according to the requirements of the railway development plan and the problems of national locomotive, this paper has calculated the performance parameters of locomotive, and then presents the spectrum of AC drive locomotive in our country.Finally, according to the marshalling and speed of China Railway passenger trains, and the status of the existing locomotive subsystems products, recommend the4axles(Bo-Bo) and6axles (Co-Co) AC drive electric locomotive applied to passenger trains,8axles (2×(Bo-Bo)) AC drive electric locomotive applied to200km/h passenger train. Recommended6axles (Co-Co)8axles (2×(Bo-Bo)) and12axles (3×(Co-Co)) locomotives applied to freight trains.
