After the locomotive assembled, machine wheels(axis)to the forces on the track is not the same, the impact of the traction adhesion of effective play, but also may cause the wheel to render polygons caused by wear and shape wear motorcycle track showing waves during operation. At this would adversely affect the life of the locomotive,it will cause traffic safety problems. In order to allocate the weigh of locomotive to every axle equally,we adjust the primary suspension spring. This may directly affect the static wheels load in every axle, thus limits the use of locomotive traction force. At present, the weighing process and adjustment process for the DF series diesel locomotive is still "low efficiency","large error","small-scale".Therefore,further study for DF series diesel locomotive axle load adjustment process is very necessary. In this paper, based on the technology of HXN5 locomotive designed by GE,by comparing with HXN5 and DF8 B in structure, processes, theory and other aspects, systematic describe the primary and second suspension mechanism.Analyze the limitations between DF8 BI locomotive weight distribution and primary suspension spring adjustment. Then to do the feasibility analysis for the DF8 BI locomotive in axle load adjustment process,to do the detail calculations of the feasible scope for load adjustment and the change of the axle load. And write the software for the calculation of axle load for DF8 BI locomotive, then test it.By the study DF8 BI locomotive weighing and axle load adjustment process systematic and scientific.Through this method, greatly improved the accuracy, increased the efficiency.Based on DF8 BI locomotive model,we can provide some useful methods for other similar locomotives to use.
