Modern industrial engineering is a cross-disciplinary project which takes large-scale industrial production and socio-economic system as the research object, then gradually forms and develops based on the manufacturing engineering, management science and systems engineering and other disciplines.Quality engineering as a research direction, is a kind of engineering technology and management technology of cross discipline, taking the quality of engineering application as the goal, and taking the quality of management theory as a foundation, then grasping the quality control, quality inspection, test design method as the core, comprehensivelly and systematically introduces the basic theory, basic methods quality engineering as well as the practical application of the content. quality measurement and quality engineering technology as the foundation provides a guarantee for quality system.(1) In this paper, studies the principle and technical parameters of high frequency signal generator, analyzes calibration method of high frequency signal generator and designs and implements frequency signal generator automatic calibration system based on GPIB bus. Hardware platform is composed of GPIB converter, GPIB cables, calibration standard equipment and computer. The software system is developed based on Visual Basic6.0and controls instruments to complete the automatic calibration functions based on GPIB interface hardware.(2) The key in implement of system functions is control for calibration instruments and devices to be calibrated including the choice of the instruction sets, devices synchronization, triggering function to achieve, the instrument parameter setting and test data collection. The calibration process includes the calibration of parameters of the high frequency signal generator, realization of the measured measurement data conversion processing and analysis, calling the WORD format original record and writes the measurement results using the OLE technology in the measurement process and generating the WORD format file.(3)For purpose on full support of calibration for high frequency signal generator, system provides support of SSB phase noise auto-calibration feature. By way of programming uncertainty modules and providing interactive interface, fulfill real-time uncertainty assessment and results output for parameters including power level, frequency, amplitude modulation, frequency modulation, and other parameters. Users obtain the required uncertainty reports. It improves the quality of the calibration report. Using the system for automatic calibration, the measurement speed is4-5times better than manual measurements.
