Since the end of last century, FFV (flexible fuel vehicle) which can befilled with alcohol and gasoline in any proportion has become the main choice of the auto market inBrazil. Brazil is a big agricultural country, the production of alcohol is very rich, and so the alcoholcan be supplied in low price. As the world’s fifth largest auto market, the demand of the motorvehicles grow very fast.In recent years, China passenger car market demand tends to saturation, while the passengercar production capacity is bigger than any period before. In this condition, a lot of China enterpriseswho planned to enter the auto market in Brazil are doing efforts on the research of FFV technology,research and application of flexible fuel vehicle technology has became necessary technical reservesin various automobile company of China.Based on a small-displacement models, By necessary components restructuring to make itfrom an ordinary gasoline engine vehicle into flexible fuel vehicle. Through the study of theseproperties, corresponding improvements done to the vehicle,so that the vehicle can be adapted tovarious features of the flexible fuel, then details of the content of these technical improvements hasbeen introduced, through simulation and experimental validation of the performance of flexible fuelvehicles through improved adaptability to do a simple description. Finally, the first flexible-fuelcars in several areas related to advanced technologies such as flexible fuel cold start technology,Engine variable compression ratio technology.
