Pressure Self-adaptive Mechanical Seal(PSMS) has many advantages, such as wide pressure scope, high stability, long life, low leakage and small abrasion etc. The ring of PSMS can be deformed, and form periodic wave, taper and an annular dam area at the position of close to the inner diameter under high pressure conditions. The above phenomenon make PSMS with a hydrodynamic effect and hydrostatic effect, to achieve a good seal result. In order to better master the mechanism of PSMS and the influence of various parameters on the performance, the performance of PSMS were analysised in this paper.By using numerical simulation methods, the flow field state, the seal ring deformation and sealing performance were analysised. In order to study the sealing performance, proposed a fluid-solid coupling method, and respectively solve flow field and seal ring, and multiple iterations, ultimately flow field pressure distribution, seal ring face deformation and seal performance parameters were solved.By using fluid-solid coupling method, we analyze that work pressure, rotational speed and thickness impact on seal performance parameters, and reveals the steady state characteristics of PSMS. By Analyzing the equilibrium state under different work pressure, we obtain specific numerical of closing force, opening force, balance thickness, leakage, film stiffness and friction consumption. We approximate simulated the process from the drive to the steady state of PSMS.Based on the operating principle of PSMS, we design three structures seal ring. By using fluid-solid coupling method, we anylze that structural parameters of three type seal ring impact deformation and seal performance, and compared the three type seal ring of deformation and seal performance parameters.We designe the deformation test system and the performance analysis test system of PSMS, and manufactured various test equipment. We campare test results of deformation and seal performance parameters with the value of theoretical analysis.
