In this paper, civilization as a unit, Combed the dome’s process of production,development, and decline in Christian civilization and Islamic civilizationarchitecture.Comparison between the examples based in two civilizations. Summed up theirrespective dome of the characteristics in design of architectural, style of decoration,construction techniques, aesthetic, and the expression of the era ideals and spirit.At thesame time to explore other material within this civilization, the spirit of systemachievements, and to explore the role of this among civilizations and inter-civilizationexchanges between the respective architecture development of the dome.Hope to providesome inspiration for the so far still prevalent dome of architecture design. This article isdivided into five chapters:In the first chapter,it discusses the significance of the topic and research methods.The second chapter,Introduces the definition of the dome and the development of thedome in the brief process and outline of Christian civilization and Islamic civilization.Understand of the concept of the dome and the two religious civilizations.In the third chapter,Mainly combed Christian civilization (sub-Byzantine, WesternEurope, the two parts of) the course of development of the dome of architecture.In thepaper, the eastern Europe Byzantine can be divided into the early, middle and late, WesternEurope is divided into the Middle Ages under the Rome wind period, initiated by theGothic period and the14th century Renaissance.Through the dome of the different periodsat different spatial and development changes, to analyze the reasons for its formation with aGlobal view of the history. Tease out the transformation and innovation of thecharacteristics of its dome.In the Fourth chapter, Combed the course of development of the dome of architectureunder the Islamic civilization. The course of development of the dome is divided into theexpansion period and the heyday in the Islamic civilization.The dome of the expansionduring the Umayyad period and the Abbas period is the most important. Then according toits regional influence in turn the strong period of the Islamic Empire was divided into t Mediterranean region of the Ottoman Empire, Iran region of the Safavid Empire,India region of the Mughal Empire.Through the macro analysis to Summarize inclusive andoriginality of the dome in the Islamic civilization.In the Fifth chapter, by contrast, summed up the two domes’ characteristics,in designof architectural, style of decoration, construction techniques and the aesthetic interest.Aswell as other achievements of civilization, the civilization and inter-civilization exchangesbetween the meaning of the dome of architecture, get inspiration in favor of contemporaryarchitectural design.
