Along with the development of cities in China, urban construction changes day by day. Various forms of buildings go up. However the development of city and construction at such speed brings a lot of drawbacks. There are many factors that may affect microclimate. Street outline form is one of them at the micro level. People in the streets can directly perceive temperature environment and wind environment. This paper study street outline form between public buildings based on the evaluation of the wind environment. The research object is "street outline form between public buildings","wind speed" is evaluation method. In the figure, the " street outline form between public buildings " is the space between to the road (the driveway and sidewalks combined), public buildings and the gap between public buildings. Look from three dimensional space, it can show as virtual space road (the driveway and sidewalks combined), building spacing and physical architecture. This paper tries to simulate wind speed of street between public buildings,summarize influence law between form factors of street and wind speed, conclude the numerical value of street outline form which makes the smallest wind speed, and put forward constructive suggestions of street outline form design.Through the related research review, the research methods could be divided into three categories according to the former researches of wind environment,which are the site investigation method, experimental model method and the computer model simulation method. After comparison of these three methods’advantages and disadvantages, this paper choose the computer simulation method of CFD fluid dynamics tools as a technology. Among softwares of CFD, Airpak is the software for architects to simule wind speed, this paper uses this software to carry out the follow-up study.This paper mainly divided into three parts. The first part is Analysis of Street Outline Form between Public Buildings. First, classify Nanjing streets and choose several samples of street outline. Second, analyse and confirm form factors that influent wind speed. Third, statistics data of form factors that influent wind speed in the samples of nanjing street. Finaly, summarizes the research model of this paper from the statistical data. The second part is simulation and analysis of wind speed of models. First, calculate streets models of a variety of building distance, comparing influence law between building distance, the length of building and wind speed. Second calculate streets models of a variety of building concession road distance, comparing influence law between building concession road distance, the length of building and wind speed. Finaly, calculate streets models of local changes of architectural form. The third part is conclution. First, summarized the city street types. Second, design suggestions of street outline form between public buildings based on wind speed:give several suggestions of the value of building distance, building concession road distance and the length of building that can change wind speed in street effectively.
