With the development national economy, city vehicles gradually increase, so, thetraffic problem is becoming more and more serious. The development of intelligenttransportation systems can solve many city traffic problems to a certain extent, promote therapid development of the city. Route guidance system is the key part of intelligenttransportation system, it can provide reasonable travel plan for the traveler, so it provides agreat benefits for improving traffic problem. At present, most of the literature on the routeguidance systemhave a bias towards the theoretical study not the research of simulationsystem which has practical application background.In this paper, the shortest travel time is regarded as the objective function, together withbasic property information, static attribute information of urban traffic network and dynamicpropertiesinformation of actual traffic,this paper established a broad network model.Throughthe comparison and analysis of several traditionalpath optimization algorithms, it selects theDijkstra algorithm as the basic algorithm,besides,it also made some improvements on it: theimprovement on storage structureand on search range, the route guidance algorithm in thispaper is also designed on it. This paper focuses on the development of the routeguidance simulation system, regards the secondary development of geographic informationsystem as its technical means, the plug-in used is MapX control provided by MapInfocompany, the software environment is VC++2010, and the SQL Server2008is used asdatabasesupport.The simulation system is divided into three parts, the first part is the basic functions ofelectronic map, it can realize the following functions: the embedded display of the electronicmap, the map to enlarge, narrow and roaming, scale drawing, distance measurement, thedisplay of latitude and longitude, region selection, data binding and so on; the second part isto realize the intersection traffic simulation, two intersections are designed, itcustomedvehicle and traffic lights class, realizedthe simulation functions of thevehicle random, dynamic driving, and the timing display of traffic lights;the third part is the dynamic route guidance simulation,it realized thepathplanninganddynamic real-time vehicle routeguidancefunction. The simulation in this paper provides a simulation experiment platform for the development of city traffic, and also has a very important effect on it.
