Study On Landscape Ecological Environment Restoration And Sustainable Utilization Of Coal Mining Wasteland

The use of coal as a main source of energy, representing70%of the primary energyproduced electricity by fired resource in our country. The demand for coal has increasedgreatly in a short of time with China’s rapid industrial growth in the past. Coal mining haspromoted the rapid development of the Chinese economy through industry which in turn isgood for china in turn. The great demand for coal has made it an important economic elementbut the use of mining technique has caused a great deal of environmental and social issues.The coal mining destructed enormous virgin lands and produced plenty of abandoned coalmine lands. A series of hard issues with have been raised about the relationships ofhuman-being and the land.With the acceleration of process of the global economic integration and the aggravationurbanization, the sustainable development ecological environment and social economy havebeen paid more attention all over the world. The purpose of this research is to explore avariety of methods to restore these wastelands to a more natural, scenic state or to a state thatcan be utilized for other benefits. Ecological restoration is the most important factor in thereform of the abandoned lands. By using the information and techniques learned from othercountries which have dealt with the restoration of these lands for a long history and hadcomplete laws and regulations. We can also learn from their mistake and avoid makingmistakes.Firstly, by means of analyzing the conclusion of field research and documents exploredthe basic concept of the environmental damage caused by mining and the environmentalrestoration. I also tried to improve the ecological restoration theory to guild the rebuilding ofabandoned coal mine.Secondly, I reviewed domestic and foreign research on the consequences of aboveground strip mining and it is environmental impact. I also analyzed varies of approaches oflandscape restoration at tackling the special environment problems after the coal mine isabandoned and I was interested in coal gangue, subsidence lands and summarized the modeof sustainable uses of mining lands in the future. Finally, I selected the Xi Shan coal mining wasteland in Tai Yuan and the researchimpact on the city environment, economy and social conditions. I tried to apply to LAtheories to restoration mining wastelands to a more natural state by complying with the localecology and environment. I hope my research can change mining wasteland into a treasurefor future society.
