Study Of Contemporary Cultural Attributes Of Cemetery Landscape Design

Along with the development of human civilization, cemetery has a long history. Thecemetery is the place to rest in peace for people’s body and soul, at the same time, it is alsoone of the palces to reflect concentratedly history culture and regional culture of humanities.In mordern urban planning, cemetery landscape is not only a part of urban public greensystem, but also one of the public places for people to have a rest and urban ecologicalenvironment. The contemporary landscape is being given more and more attention, thecemetery landscape is the integrated embodiment for the natural geographical environmentand human landscape.Based on the research of the cemetery landscape cultural attributes, the paper found thepart of the cemetery landscape cultures to be the transmission and development of the modernsociety in order to apply Chinese cemetery culture to the cemetery landscape planning anddesign, and change the current chaos phenomenon and westernization phenomenon ofcemetery landscape. The paper aimed to carry forward our nation’s own cemetery landscapeculture and change the traditional impression of spooky and horrific cemetery. It mainlystudied the cultural attributes of cemetery landscape, and the paper expounded several maincultural attributes contained in the cemetery landscape.Through research and analysis of thecemetery landscape culture attribute, the paper concluded the relationship between thecultural attributes and the cemetery landscape design. In the research, the paper mainly usedthe system method, comparison analysis and other research methods.Firstly, through the cemetery landscape types, characteristics and cemetery landscapeplanning and design principles, the paper knew the essence of cemetery landscape.secondly, itstudied the main culture attribute types in the cemetery landscape such as Confucian, Taoistculture, Geomancy Culture, religious culture and regional culture, etc. Besides, it studied theinfluence of culture attribute on the cemetery construction in the cemetery landscape designand its application in order to promote the cemetery landscape design for better Chinesetraditional culture heritage.Finally, on the basis of previous research, the paper exploredecological planning and design of cemetery landscape with cultural attribute, and studied the function and significance of plants in the cemetery landscape, summarized the characteristicsof plant landscape in different partitions of cemetery. The paper put forward the point that itshould choose more local native plants, and use ecological pavement, construct ecologicalmodel in the cemetery landscape planning and design. It advocated to start from the details,and build reasonable and stable ecological cemetery system with cultural attribute. The paperadvocates that in the cemetery landscape design, we must give full consideration to the designand performance of the cemetery cultural attributes to build a muti-function modern cemeterylandscape integrating culture, humanity and ecology with culture transmission, recreation andurban green space ecology system. It provided theoretical basis for the future development ofcemetery landscape, and we hope that it will be helpful in the future of cemetery landscapedesign.
