Face to the growingproblems of the reality, people began to re-examine the city development concept.At present，in China the total number of small town is larger,and continued toclimb, so the rational development of small towns are very important for the futuredevelopment of China city, shaping the style characteristics of small towns canenhance the quality and the connotation of the city.The author amply relate the concept of city feature、the city landscape elementsand the city characteristic elements, all of them support the main body of this paper.The core of this paper is to shape the city of Turpan features. The thesis focus on theold city of Turpan, at the same time, thoroughly analyses the style and feature’sstatus、construction、protection、old city reconstruction of the old city,make it as anexample, the author use the methods of research、interview、questionnaires toanalyses each elements which can influence the style and feature of Turpan city.Furthermore this paper quest the relations of the style and feature with the history,humanity, nature, ecological, region, folklore, policy and economy.
