As a complex safety-critical system, the reliability, availability, maintainability, safety and efficiency of the high-speed railway train control system is highly demanded. The train control system is composed of the onboard system and the trackside system. As an important component of the trackside system, balise is recognized to be the key to ensure the safety and high efficiency of the train operation, which is responsible for transmitting the line data to the onboard system.The rules for applying the balises and preparing the messages are specified in detail in the principles of balise application for the high-speed railway train control system, which are the basis of balise application in practice. However, problems may appear in practical condition due to the unsuitable balises application scheme, such as the balise group is arranged too closed (or too sparse), the location of the balise is unreasonable, the balise that stores the key information is lost and so on. Considering that the deep study on the optimization of the balise application has not been conducted systematically and scientifically, it is of great significance for the safe and efficient operation of the high-speed train to develop a complete method to verify and optimize the balises application scheme.The method of verifying and optimizing the balise application scheme focused on the high-speed railway train control system is proposed in this paper, with the research idea of modeling-model solving-scheme generation-simulation and test.First of all, the descriptions for the balise application scheme and optimal criterions, which is proposed with the mathematical formulas as well as the mathematical models are built on the basis of the function requirement and system requirement of balises application scheme for the high-speed railway train control system.Then the mathematical models are transformed to the computer programming languages by coding on the platform of Visual Studio2012, and the tool of IBM ILOG CPLEX has been used to solve this mixed integer programming problem. At the same time, the double-buffer technique and man-machine interactive method have been used in this paper to develop a platform with friendly interface to create balise application scheme, monitor the procedure of solving the mathematical models in real time and illustrate the final result. Next, the optimization scheme generating platform provide an interface with the database of the CTCS-3(Chinese Train Control System, Level3) simulation and test platform, which can inject the balise application optimization scheme to the simulation and test platform. The simulation and test platform reads the test sequences, which are completed in advance, saved in the XML file, and focus on the test of the balise application scheme to test the existing and the optimal balise application scheme and record the testing results.Finally, the feasibility and efficiency of the balise application optimization method proposed in this paper are demonstrated by comparing and analyzing the test results of the two application schemes, which can be used as the basis of the balise application in practice.
