With Its light weigh、high strength characteristics of steel strutures, at the same time, China rapid economic development in recent years, steel structure is widely used in high-rise buildings.In steel frame structure, The node performance of beam-column connections directly affects the structural carrying capacity、deformability rigidity and stability. So, the node design is a core part of the steel frame structure. In this paper, theoretic analysis FEM programs are combined, connections of beam-column are carried out systems analysis and research, focused on the following areas:Firstly, It briefly introduces the recent research on beam-column connection in steel frames and present status of steel frame beam-column connctions at home and abroad. The typical behaviors of beam-column connections for the analysis of advantages and disadvantage, and performance for the mechanical proposed raising steel frame, the paper analyses the steel casting connection which is a non-traditional form of beam-column connections of steel frame, New node development will play a role on foundation for the future.Secondly, Instead of traditional angle with steel castings, by analyzing the performance of the end plate and steel castings, It proposed a new style connection:the fix connection of the end plate and steel castings consider to the comprehensive advantages of both.Thirdly, By using the finite element software ABAQUS to simulate the new node, The paper discussed the effects about different geometric sizes of steel castings and the thickness of the end plate on the node properties and simulated the seismic performance under the cyclic loads, the ductility and the energy dissipation capacity are analysed. The results show that:the steel casting connections, with good initial stiffness and ultimate bearing capacity. Cast steel vertical limb, rib thickness have effectively strengthen the joint, the end plate thickness can enhance the ability of energy dissipation.Fourthly, With SAP2000analysing case and checking analog for the new nodes to prove its safty and stability.
