Welded connections were widely used in traditional steel structures. But weldingconnection required good weather、high welding technology in construction sites, andit was easily prone to brittle failure. And a large of welding connections improved testcost and hidden danger. Besides, transportation cost of large structure combined ofwelding connections was high, which was not conducive to reduce cost. So the mostideal method was individually making connections into products. Assembleconnections-New Types of Residential Building Industrialization Technology, brokethrough integral component connection mode, and could be made into independentstandardized products. Moreover, assemble connections played a unique role in therealization of energy saving and consumption reduction for steel construes.This paper studies a new type of beam-column assemble rigid connection. It isdifferent from traditional splicing connections, including the steel column andcantilever beam section which is connected to column by welding, steel frame beam,splicing plate and a complete set of bolts. Among them, the upper flange splice plate isarranged on the upper side of beam, and completed welding in the factory. And thebottom flange splice plate is arranged on the under side of the cantilever beam, andcompleted welding in the factory. In the process of installation, the upper and lowerflanges of beam served as the place plate. Then the flanges and web of beam areconnected by bolts, so realized the beam-column rigid connection. Assembleconnection can overcome the bad ductility of welding, brittle fracture, and the highrequirements of weather and welding technology, which has the advantages of goodenergy absorption capacity, deformation capacity, fast construction, better quality, etc.A new type beam-column assemble rigid connection was taken as the researchobject. Then the new beam-column assemble rigid connection was designed byrespectively using the equal strength design method, practical design method, theaccurate design method and the simplified design method. And the nonlinear numericalanalysis of connections were made by finite element analysis software ABAQUS, andmade comparison of mechanical performance of the new beam-column assemble rigidconnection.Based on the equal strength preliminary design of the new beam-column assemble rigid connection, through changing geometric parameters of the width, thickness andlength of the beam flange splicing plate, the length of cantilever beam section and thethickness of the beam web splicing plate to study the effects of splicing parameters onthe mechanical properties of the rigid connection.And the five series, a total of23connection models were designed. Then the new assemble rigid connections wereapplied static loading and low reversed cyclic loading respectively. And the failuremodels and load-displacement curve under static loading, and the failure models andhysteresis curve under cyclic loading were obtained. It revealed the rules of capacity,hysteresis property and failure model changing with the design parameters, and thereasonable parameter range was given. Finally, mainly through changing the flangeplate thickness and transverse stiffener thickness of column to study the effects of thesetwo geometric parameters on the mechanical properties of the connection region, andgave reasonable two parameters range.
