The solar energy exploitation, especially photovoltaic (PV) generation is developed rapidly and gradually becomes an important research field. As one of the main forms of solar energy utilization, independent photovoltaic power generation control system is the research object in this paper. Deep researches on the characteristic of solar cell, maximum power point tracking (MPPT) methods and control strategies of DC/DC and DC/AC converters are made.Because DC/DC and DC/AC converters are typical switching nonlinear systems, it is very difficult to accurately identify the dynamic process model parameters and establish the precise mathematical model of the system. Traditional model based control methods have great limitations of solving the problems of model mismatch.A method of MFAC based on online PSO is proposed in this paper. Model-free adaptive control (MFAC) is a kind of controller design methods which needs less knowledge of mathematical models and relevant prior knowledge, and only needs the I/O data to design the controller. It can be used to solve the problems of model mismatch.The simulation model of solar cell is established by analyzing the character of PV cell. Then MFAC is successfully used in DC/DC, DC/AC and MPPT.At last, a750W independent photovoltaic power generation system is designed, including the circuit parameters and simulation., In order to verify the validity of MFAC, the hardware circuit based on DSP is established as well.
