Research On Self-organization Mechanism Of The Space Form Evolution Of Traditional Settlements In Southern Fujian

The south of Fujian area has a special geographical position, it located on the southeast coast, since ancient times,it had been coastal defense military, now it is an important area of inland to foreign exchanges, here have remains lots of traditional settlements which have a long history, rich in cultural relics, unique regional characteristics. The continuation of the the traditional settlements are he accumulation of the local history, culture and social development. They are also the livelihood homeland of the local residents. The protection and development of the traditional settlements it is an important subject in the present need to be studied. Scientific interpretation of the evolution mechanism of the space form of these traditional settlements is to provide an important basis for the protection and development.Self-organization is a kind of evolutionary way widely exists in various complex systems,traditional settlements in Southern Fujian has experienced a long evolution,and they are typical complex systems, their settlement patterns have been performing a gradual evolution process from the bottom to the top with self-organization characteristic.However,in the face of the special period such as the Ming and Qing Dynasties when the ban on overseas trade has been implemented,or a series of fusion caused by high-speed development of the current social,political and economic,these traditional settlements have not adapt,which led to the fragmentation of the spatial textures and the decay of there overall outlooks.Now residents in the settlements have low living standard,young and middle-aged population is losing,they are gradually empty.This paper attempts to discuss the cause and process which is from formation to development,and from prosperity to fading, of the evolution of the space form of Yongning ancient gurad city, which is a typical traditional settlement in Southern Fujian, and reveal the mechanism of its self-organization evolution. On this basis, try to explore the way to the renaissance for Yongning ancient gurad city in today’s society background, and provide references for the development of many other traditional settlements in Southern Fujian.
