With the expanding of urban population, urban areas are continuously to the suburbs, curban transport are also continuously upgrade. The subway as a tool of urban rapid rail transit, with its fast, safe and convenient advantages such as more and more be taken seriously. Our country after more than30years of the introduction, digestion, absorption and re-innovation, in the aspect of urban rail transit has been rapid development. Traction power system of ac drive device, network control system, auxiliary power supply has achieved independent research and development and manufacturing. For main electric locomotive traction converters in railway vehicles refers to AC-DC-AC variable flow system, the urban subway and light rail for DC-AC inverter system, with the development of power electronic technology continuously, traction inverter is also in constant progress. Traction inverter is part of the train drive system, is a kind of powered by electric power traction vehicle traction way. Main purpose through the inverter from the overhead contact line or third rail (third rail) can receive direct current, and then through the inverter the dc inverter into with adjustable amplitude and frequency of three-phase alternating current, provide suitable energy for traction motor running. Traction motor transform electric energy into kinetic energy, passed to wheel, gear driving wheel on the orbit to drive the vehicle to move forward. Paper mainly introduces the process of development of traction inverter, according to the requirements of the inverter output power, through the computing device selection, and electrical components are installed through the reasonable layout to a specific space in the cabinet put oneself in another’s position, in the design process should consider heating element IGBT heat dissipation, electromagnetic compatibility, cabinet put oneself in another’s position within the cabinet put oneself in another’s position of sealing elements such as grades and intensity.
