In the twenty-first century, the membrane structure has been used in various formsof architecture. Many architects were attracted by its unique structural form andgraceful shape. Membrane structure has become a new type of architectural formdifferent from the traditional buildings. Membrane structure can be divided into thetensioned membrane structure and the inflatable membrane structure, both of them arewind sensitive structures. So the wind load is the main control load in membranestructure design. The main reason is the membrane structure can produces largerdeformation under wind load, which will in turn affect the wind load acting onmembrane structure, and this kind of interaction is called the fluid-structureinteraction effect. This paper mainly analyzes the response of tensioned membranestructure and inflatable membrane structure under the fluid-structure coupling effectof wind load.At first, form finding for the saddle tensioned membrane structure is done. Byusing the software restart function, modal analysis and fluid-structure interactionresponse of the saddle tensioned membrane are presented. The response results ofmembrane surface under the fluid-structure interaction effects are obtained. Forinflatable membrane structure, the related parameters are directly given. Then thefluid-structure interaction response under three different wind speed is analyzed. Themembrane surface response change rule is summarized. Some useful fluid-structure interaction conclusion of tensioned and inflatablemembrane structures is drawn under uniform wind field. It can provide somereference and guidance for the membrane structure design.
