With the high-speed development of the automobile industry, the environmental pollution and the energy shortage problem which were got attention of citizen, the development of conventional cars is also constrained. The electric vehicle was highly attention for its good environmental performance and the advantages of energy for the power, the advantages of electric cars become the main technology to solve the problem of environmental pollution and energy shortage. In order to solve the problem of battery SOC, further developed the REEV. How to develop the electric car which can meet the demand of market has become a new hot topic in the field of automobile industry. The development of the computer’s simulation technology solved this issue very well. The frame and the suspension system are basic parts of the Electric vehicle, the performance of strength, stiffness and dynamic performance is an important content of modern electric vehicle’s design and development.The background of this thesis is a REEV R&D project. The research object are the frame and the rear suspension system of REEV, After the frame and suspension system structure design and main parameters were known, The finite element analysis model of the frame and the suspension were established in Hypermesh, Model including the statics analysis model, the modal analysis model and the frequency response analysis model.Then, the static analysis under two kinds of typical conditions of bending and torsion of the REEV’s frame, the structural strength distribution of frame was obtained. At the same time, the free modal analysis and frequency response analysis for the frame were given, and the related dynamic parameters of the frame were obtained. Combined with the result of its static and dynamic analysis, the size optimization model of the frame was established, the spare structure strength parts of the frame was optimized. the results of optimization show that the frame reaches the certain lightweight effect.Finally, the Torsion Beam Rear Suspension of electric vehicle was designed and analyzed, the analysis included the static analysis under three limit conditions of the suspension and its free modal analysis. The static and dynamic analysis results show that the suspension system has good static and dynamic performance.
