High-speed ship is a new type of ship which has been developed deeply by the main countries all over the world. High-speed semi-planing passenger transport trimaran is a type of high-speed ship. In order to achieve high speed, the main engine needs to achieve a high speed which can bring noise problems. This problem of noise must be considered in advance. If measure is taken after construction is completed, then the trimaran noise levels often behaved unreasonably and the measures will be not economical. In the early design stage, prediction of noise level must be took into account.Studied in this paper is a high-speed semi-planing trimaran. The ship’s main navigation area is the coast and inland and passengers service is higher compared to ordinary passenger ship. In this paper, noise levels of passenger cabins and engine room are predicted and the cabin noise which beyond standard is taken measures to reduced. According to the basic structure, typical cross-sectional view, arrangement drawing of the ship, model has been established in the AutoSEA2. Model was simplified in order to facilitate proper analysis.Calculated the noise level when the cabin is not taken any noise reduction measures and find cabins whose noise levels exceed standards. Apply air excitation or structure excitation to engine room, find the best way to reduce the noise level. Using glass wool board and epoxy resin to objective room, the effect of the epoxy resin is better. Applied with epoxy resin in the inner wall of the objective room with different thicknesses to find the best thickness to reduce cabin noise.Applied the same epoxy resin to engine room, compare the noise levels of target cabin with each other to find the best method to reduce target cabin noise level.
