Because of wind power’s intermittency, the fluctuation of reactive power whenlarge scale wind power is connected with grid may brings large fluctuation of voltage. The study is mainly focus on single wind farm currently. However, when multiplewind farms access to one bus, it may causes complex reacitve power and voltageproblems. In order to support the voltage of wind farms, reactive power coordinationmethod for large scale wind farms connected to grid is studied in this paper.Concerning reactive power and voltage coordinated control of multiple windfarms, the influence on other wind farms and substation are studied when output ofone wind farm changes. Meanwhile, the allocation of reactive power is simulated andchecked to make voltage fluctuation meet the requirement of power systemAccording to the problems of reactive power and voltage control betweenmultiple wind farms, an optimization and control method are analyzed for powersystem with multiple wind farms. This paper studies a method based on sensitivityanalyze to realize reactive power coordination. Combining with particle swarmalgorithm, a Multiple-Objective Reactive Power Optimization Model is establishedwhich minimize the losses of reactive power and meet the voltage stability, considering power grid security and economy. With these optimizations, the supportability for wind farm’s voltage is enhanced. Meanwhile, the security and stability ofpower grid is improved. Through calculation, this algorithm not only enhances thewind farms’ security, but also further improve the economic benefits.
