Joints are very important in frame structure which are responsible for thetransmission and distribution of internal force, the ensuring of structural integrity. Thedamage of joints may cause the whole structure collapses. So it is important to the studyof seismic reinforcement for frame structure joints. The technique of pasting FRP for reinforcing concrete frame joints has manyadvantages and can improve the seismic shear capacity of the joints effectively, thistechnique has already been widely used in engineering. The calculation formula ofseismic shear capacity of the core of the joints strengthened by pasting FRP wasestablished in some paper. But the study of Sprayed FRP used for reinforcing concreteframe joints is just started and most of the reinforcing focus on the beams, columns andthe masonry structures rather than the frame structure joints.Study of the Sprayed FRPneeds particular machine if using real model,so ANSYS can be used to study the shearcapacity of the core of the concrete frame joints strengthened by Sprayed FRP.Using ANSYS to analysis on the performance of balanced-reinforced beam toobtain the parameter of Sprayed GFRP,reasonable concrete frame joints strengthened bySprayed FRP models were obtained by comparing the result of numerical simulation toexperiments. Thus the seismic mechanical behavior of concrete frame jointsstrengthened by Sprayed FRP was studied, the main factors affecting strengthened effectwas analyzed, influence on the seismic performance on the ultimate state by differentthickness, length of Sprayed FRP, and different axial pressure ratio of column wereanalyzed, the strengthening effect of pasting FRP and Sprayed FRP were analyzed in thepaper too. The calculation formula of seismic shear capacity of the core of the jointsstrengthened by Sprayed FRP was established.
