With the development and popularization of vehicle communication equipment, VANET are widely used in civilian areas and military areas, the security issue are more concerned by scholar all over the world. In the modern information security system, password technology is a means to protect the safety of a widely used. However, in the application of encryption and authentication technologies in VANET, key management issues become more apparent.Existing VANET key management schemes using distributed ideas to solve the problem that VANET is a special network which has no center node. These schemes increased the complexity of key management, and brought low connectivity, communication and computation larger issues. This paper aims to address these issues, and combine with the security requirements of VNAET, propose a VNAET key management scheme which has high connectivity rate, strong privacy, lightweight and be able to authenticate. The main work of this paper is to focus on these four security goals. To improve the connectivity rate, this paper proposed NGPSR protocol based on GPSR which has higher connectivity rate than other protocols. On the other hand, in our new key management scheme, we used the TCP transport protocol retrains mission strategy to improve the key distribution process connectivity rate. In addition, in this new scheme we use a hierarchical key management structure to achieve good strong privacy goals. Finally, the new scheme simplifies key update and certificate revocation process which greatly reducing the amount of communication and computation, to achieve the goal of lightweight. At the last of this paper, we have done a lot of experiments proved that the new scheme is superior to existing programs, which basically proved that we have achieve the four security objectives which is mentioned in previous paragraphs.
