Urban-rural area integration development in China makes more pressing theory and practice requests on urban and rural traffic, especially the passenger transportation. Therefore, research of urban and rural bus lines and sites becomes the primary problem to face. Based on the node importance and network structure characteristics, this thesis studied the urban and rural bus lines and sites layout.Combined with spatial distribution characteristics of urban and rural passenger flow and urban and rural bus lines operating practice, this paper divided urban and rural bus routes into town bus and country bus. Based on network structure characteristics and passenger flow characteristics, this paper studied urban and rural bus lines layout and the urban and rural public transport hub stations, bus stops, and request stops. Paper main work is as follows:First of all, urban and rural bus lines evolution mechanism is analyzed, elaborated bus network layout characteristics, analyzed and put forward that urban and rural bus network’s main structure characteristics are star and tree at present stage in our country. Urban and rural passenger flow can be divided into vertical flow that passengers from city to town, or town to country and transverse flow that passengers from one town to other towns or one country to other countries. On the premise of focus on vertical flows, town bus and country bus are deeply studied. Meanwhile, by analyzing the structure characteristics of urban and rural bus network and passenger flow, concluded that urban and rural bus routes layout primarily reflects the "point to multipoint" structure, form down town to towns and form town to villages that radiate. Through the analysis of towns and villages node important degree, selecting key towns and villages to open urban and rural bus lines, proposed urban bus lines based on the shortest path and country bus lines layout model based on Hamilton path. Secondly, by analyzing the similarities and differences between urban and rural bus and urban bus, for specificity of urban and rural bus sites, from hub stations, bus stops and request stops study urban and rural bus sites layout. Analysis and select line length, non-linear coefficient, site service population and average stop distance as evaluation index to evaluate and optimize urban and rural bus lines and sites. Finally, set a city in Shandong province called Gaomi as an example to verify rationality and feasibility of models and methods proposed by this thesis.
