In recent years, the urban traffic problem is increasingly serious due to the rapidly increase in the number of vehicles, however, backwards means of traffic management have been unable to effectively relieve urban traffic congestion, traffic management and travelers are eager to obtain the real-time running status information of the road network, therefore, the research of road network running status based on floating car traffic information collection technology is widely concerned.Based on review of related literatures and the demand on traffic management and traffic transportation, the system of road traffic state discrimination based on floating car is designed, the hierarchical system framework is analyzed from the overall system structure、 system function software architecture and system workflow, and the related function development are completed; data processing is carried out on the floating car data with the support of GIS-T technology, such as identification and processing of abnormal floating car data、electronic map matching and data warehousing, which provides data basis for the traffic flow parameter estimation.; based on floating car data acquisition and processing, the average travel speed is selected as traffic flow parameter, and the average travel speed estimation model is established, and the validity of the model is verified with floating car data; the research intends to select the zhangdian central town road network as the case study network, with the floating car data for a week of peak in the morning and at night time the road network running status is discriminated and displayed with ten minutes interval;the road segments on which traffic jam often happen are identified according to the running status data collected by floating car at different times in different date, the phenomenon and reasons of congestion are analyzed, which provides reference for traffic management departments; the time-varying characteristic of zhangdian central town road network in the peak time is analyzed based on the reliability of road network travel time and road network speed, which can be used to monitor the variation tendency of urban traffic congestion for long-time; the model of the optimal dynamic path based on travel time, which provides the reference for residents, reducing travel time.
