This paper firstly analyzed the operating state of power cable and its trench, and also quantitatively analyzed the problems of powercable in its operation and management, thus got to the necessity of the Online Comprehensive Monitoring System of Powercable and Its Trench. The second part of the paper analyzed the main factors the affects the operating safety’ of power cable, including single metal sheath ground current, temperature, fire, cable channel level,and security and then drew the conclusion that the Online Comprehensive Monitoring System of Powercable and Its Trench is the only choice to increase the efficiency and management level of powercable. The third part of this paper generally described the Online Comprehensive Monitoring System of Powercable and Its Trench, and introduced the structure of the system, network structure, centralized monitoring center, integrated intelligent data management platform, second remote centralized control platform and the system backbone network transmission line, etc. This system is based on the REAL-TIME integrated intelligent data management platform, and consists of Powercable Online Fault Testing Patrol Applications, Powercable Online Partial Discharge Monitoring Applications, Distributed Fiber Optic Temperature Measurement Applications, Powercable Trench Entrances Access Centralized Monitoring Applications, Powercable And Environmental Monitoring Equipment Trench Automation Control Applications, Powercable Trench Intelligent Video Surveillance, Intrusion Alarm Applications, and the Powercable Trench Emergent Communication Positioning Applications. The fourth part of this paper introduced the subsystems of the Online Comprehensive Monitoring System of Powercable and Its Trench, and explained system configuration, system functions, system networking and the implementation of the program. The fifth part of this article described the implementation and effectiveness of the system. The last part of the paper made a summary discussion of the Online Comprehensive Monitoring System of Powercable and Its Trench. Meanwhile, we hope this project to be upgraded in practical applications, to improve the operation and maintenance of Jinan power grid, thus in the future, and eventually achieve a comprehensive promotion of the system.
