Maintenance activities and maintenance training play more and more important roles in the operating cycle of present equipment. In order to reduce operator’s cognitive load in system designing, a quantitative description of cognitive process’s steps, objectives and influence factors should be made. Research on Situation Cognition has supplied with targeted solutions. The aim of this article is:First, by using objective-oriented task analysis method, a task with a specific object will be analyzed, and a situation cognition model based on Fuzzy Cognitive Maps will be established to test operator’s attention distribution of simultaneous objectives. Based on the research achievements of Endsley and her team, a series of Situation Cognition research methods will be used in cognitive analysis of maintenance.Second, the level of each SC factor’s effect on the targets of every period of the task will be calculated, and a specific solution to predict cognitive load will be put forward in this article. Quantitative analysis based on process and the target is an important and difficult part of Situation Cognition research, so this part is the main innovation points of this article. Finally, the result of cognitive load predicted by the model will be compared with questionnaire and eye-movement data, so as to prove the rationality of the model. The experimental results show that:by comparing the result predicted by the model with questionnaire and eye-movement data results, it shows that the model is scientific and rational.
