New buildings have become increasingly saturated over time, while the oldbuildings can not be torn down due to various reasons although they have served for along time.In order to reveal the potential danger, to avoid accident and to prolong itsservice time of existing building structure, detection and identification need to beconducted on existing structure effect, structural resistance as well as mutual relationsand reinforcement design of the structure needs to be carried on the foundation ofscientific identification. Therefore, the technology of detect, identify and reinforceexisting buildings has become a hot topic in engineering field. This thesis, on the basisof its original research results and engineering examples, carries a systematical analysisand in-depth theoretical study for the detection, identification and reinforcement designof existing brick masonry structure. The main contents are as follows:1).Synoptically discuss the importance of the research on detection, identificationand reinforcement design of existing structure and its development status in home andabroad; Clear the direction of the development of construction industry in our countryand justify the significance of its research and other related work2).Detection and identification is the foundation of reinforcement design, so thecorrectness of detection information has a direct impact on the follow-up service life ofthe building. Therefore, this thesis gives a brief introduction of the contents andmethods of existing brick masonry structure and introduces the basic requirements andidentification steps for the anti-seismic evaluation of A class buildings in details.Meanwhile, based on the detection and identification, this thesis also verifies its primaryprinciples and common methods of reinforcement design and points out the problemsthat should be paid attention to during the reinforcement construction process.3).This thesis checks the pressure bearing capacity, the seismic shear force and theseismic and shear-bearing capacity of wall through adopting JDJG module of PKPMfinite element analysis software and combining practical projects. And it also carries outreinforcement design according to the identification conclusion. As the detection,identification and reinforcement design of buildings covers a wide spectrum, the studyon it relates to structure mechanics, mechanics of materials, mathematical statistics andother engineering technologies such as detection, maintenance and reinforcement ect.. 4)Moreover the emergence of new materials and new technologies has broughtgreat opportunity and challenge for the detection, identification and reinforcementdesign industry. Hence, the author hopes the proposed detection and identificationmethod and the reinforcement skeme in this thesis could have a certain reference valuefor the similar projects.
