The highway in our country developed quickly in recent years, more than90%of the asphalt pavement. For a variety of reasons, the asphalt pavement has pot holes, crack, sinkage and other diseases. If not timely repair, it will cause the damage of widespread and even damage at the grass-roots, affects seriously the safety, and restrict the highway efficiency into full play. Emulsified asphalt has been widely used in road repair project. Emulsified asphalt is now widely used in road repair project. The biggest characteristic is can be used at room temperature. But general emulsified asphalt has not enough strength and flexibility is poor. Therefore it restricts the promotion and application of emulsified asphalt in asphalt pavement maintenance and repair project. How to improve the material performance of emulsified asphalt concrete has become an important task, To achieve this goal, this article attempted to blended sisal fibers into the emulsified asphalt concrete. The test proved that such an attempt achieved a certain effect. The subject mainly researched the impact on pavement performance through adding sisal fibers to emulsified asphalt concrete. Considering low-costs nature of sisal fibers as well as its enhancement effect to cement concrete, this paper incorporated sisal fibers into the emulsified asphalt concrete for the first time, through laboratory tests validated using performance of sisal fibers Emulsified Asphalt Concrete Pavement. Laboratory tests conducted Marshall test, rutting test and freeze-thaw split test.We did mix design on the basis of doing tests to raw materials; through adding different specifications of sisal fibers into emulsified asphalt mixtures to verify their enhanced action to the asphalt mixtures. In the tests, used different lengths (2mm,4mm,6mm,8mm) and different quality dosages (0%,0.2%,0.3%,0.4%,0.5%) of sisal fibers, carried out multiple sets of unconfined compression strength test and Marshall conventional tests, and through multi-group Rutting tests and freeze-thaw split tests to validate them to determine that for the emulsified asphalt pavement structure, sisal fibers’optimum length is4mm, with best quality dosage of0.3%. Laboratory tests showed that admixing the appropriate specifications of sisal fibers to emulsified asphalt mixtures could improve their physical mechanical indicators and road performance such as high temperature stability, water stability and so on. This topic discusses the preventive maintenance of asphalt pavement, at the same time, this paper studies construction performance by mixing test, memory test, and so on. The results show that sisal fibers emulsified asphalt concrete meet the requirements of construction of preventive maintenance. If the research results of this subject can be used widely, it can greatly increase our highway construction and maintenance quality, the successful development of sisal fibers will produce huge economic and social benefits.
